Art for Teens (and some adults) In-Person
Kathy Garness will offer a class on art for the teenagers of the Waukegan Public Library. Teens will receive a supply of professional artist-grade color drawing set of materials. They will discuss the many intersections of art and science, explore the cultural and ecological roles of plants, and level up their existing art skills. They will also discuss scientific communication opportunities available, along with scholarships, continuing education, and so on. (Analogous fields needing drawing skills are medical illustration, digital and traditional science illustration, cartography, etc.).
Kathleen Garness is a botanical artist that has just completed a 12 page guide to dunes plants for the Field Museum.
If registration is full, teens may come to observe.
